London. June 15. Letters from Leghorn, . . . Upwards of
four thousand pounds have been subscribed and remitted to
General Paoli, for the benefit of windows, and families of
those patriots, who have been obliged to abandon their
habitations upon the approach of the enemy, and have joined
to the army . . .
To shew my love for liberty,
And add to Paschal's store,
With joy I freely give my mite,
And wish I could give more.
. . . [4 more lines, signed] R.R. a subaltern officer of
the army, on half pay.
